Synthnation (Documentary)

Synthnation is a documentary about the minds and hearts of those so-called “weirdos dressed in black.” It explores the ostracized world of underground industrial music and lifestyle through the shared experiences of people that would commonly not associate with one another. It also investigates the inner-workings of rare musical giants and geniuses such as Front 242 and VNV Nation among others. Synthnation toured the international music and film festival circuit, and proves to be the industrial daddy of documentary.

Vanessa Libertad Garcia is a Cuban-American writer & filmmaker based out of Los Angeles, CA. The Fiat Libertad Co. assembles her literary and cinematic works, which reflect the varied experiences of underrepresented, atypical and eccentric human communities. They aim to candidly depict sub-cultural issues through distinctive styles that challenge conventional forms of storytelling.
